## Biography

Andrea Gibb is a Scottish screenwriter and former actress. Born in Greenock, she studied drama and sociology at Glasgow University, completed a postgraduate teaching degree at Manchester Polytechnic and trained in acting at the Drama Studio London.

She acted in theatre and television, with a notable role as Deirdre in the series *All Creatures Great and Small*, before turning to writing. Her screenplays include *Dear Frankie* (2004), *Nina's Heavenly Delights* (2006), *Swallows and Amazons* (2016) and *Elizabeth Is Missing* (2019). She has written episodes of *Call the Midwife* (2017–2021) and received BAFTA nominations for her work.
