## Biography

Andrea Newman is a television writer and producer. She began her career as a playwright in New York before moving into television, with early credits including script coordinator on *Spin City* (1997) and writer on *Felicity* (1998–2002).

Newman wrote two episodes of *24* (2002) and served as a producer on the series during its first season. She later wrote for *Ed* (2000), *Cold Case* (2005–2006), *Point Pleasant* (2005), *Private Practice* (2007), *Human Target* (2010–2011) and *The Secret Circle* (2011–2012).

Newman joined *Chicago Fire* in 2012 as a writer and co-executive producer. She rose to executive producer and served as showrunner for several seasons until stepping down after the fourteenth season in 2026. She also wrote episodes of the spin-off *24: India* (2013).
