## Biography

Andrés de Segurola (born Andrés Perelló de Segurola) was a Spanish operatic bass and actor. Born in Valencia on 27 March 1874, he was a member of the Metropolitan Opera Company from 1901 to 1920 and later appeared in numerous films.

His film roles included Galuppi in the 1934 musical *One Night of Love*. After retiring from the stage he taught singing; one of his pupils was Deanna Durbin. He died in Barcelona on 23 January 1953.
