Andrew Keir was a Scottish actor. Born Andrew Buggy on 3 April 1926 in Shotts, Lanarkshire, he worked in coal mines from the age of 14 before joining the Glasgow Citizens' Theatre, where he trained and remained for nine years. His professional career spanned stage, film and television from the 1940s until the 1990s.

Keir appeared as Agrippa in *Cleopatra* (1963) and as Professor Bernard Quatermass in *Quatermass and the Pit* (1967). Other film roles include Father Sandor in *Dracula: Prince of Darkness* (1966), Polybius in *The Fall of the Roman Empire* (1964), the 2nd Engineer Officer in *A Night to Remember* (1958) and Argyll in *Rob Roy* (1995). He originated the role of Thomas Cromwell in the stage play *A Man for All Seasons* (1960) and made numerous television appearances, including in *The Avengers* (1961) and *The Persuaders!* (1971).
