## Biography

Andrew MacLachlan (27 February 1941 – 17 December 2018) was a British actor. Born in Trearddur Bay, Anglesey, Wales, he was educated at St Edward's School, Oxford, and St Edmund Hall, Oxford, where he played first-class cricket. After working as a teacher and in an office job, he began acting at the age of 38.

He made his screen debut in *Monty Python's Life of Brian* (1979) after contacting his Oxford friend Terry Jones. He appeared in several other Monty Python-related films, including *Time Bandits* (1981), *Monty Python's The Meaning of Life* (1983) as the Groom, *A Fish Called Wanda* (1988) and *The Adventures of Baron Munchausen* (1988). His television credits included *Foyle's War* (2002) and *Pickles: The Dog Who Won the World Cup* (2006).

MacLachlan was married to Georgina Morton from 1966 until his death; they had three daughters.
