## Biography

Andrew McCullough was an American television director. Born on 7 September 1924 in North Hempstead, New York, he graduated from Harvard and served in the Second World War. He began his career in the early 1950s, directing for CBS and other networks.

McCullough directed episodes of numerous series, including two episodes of *The Fugitive* (1963), 33 episodes of *The Donna Reed Show* (1958–1966), and 14 episodes of *Family Ties* (1983–1989), on which he also served as first assistant director for the full run. He directed more than 40 episodes of the educational series *Omnibus*, including a 1953 production of *King Lear* featuring Orson Welles and episodes with James Dean. He later worked as an assistant director on *Happy Days* and *Laverne & Shirley*. McCullough died in Los Angeles on 22 January 2019.
