## Biography

Andrew Whyment, also credited as Andy Whyment, is an English actor. He trained at the Laine Johnson Theatre School in Salford and made his first credited television appearance in *Cracker* in 1993.

Whyment is known for playing Darren Sinclair-Jones in the BBC sitcom *The Royle Family* (1999–2000) and Kirk Sutherland in the ITV soap opera *Coronation Street* (2000–present). He received the British Soap Award for Best Comedy Performance in 2003.
