## Biography

Andri Snær Magnason is an Icelandic writer and documentary filmmaker. Born on 14 July 1973 in Reykjavík, he studied Icelandic literature at the University of Iceland, completing a BA in 1997.

He has directed documentary films including *Dreamland* (2009), *The Hero's Journey to the 3rd Pole* (2020) and *Apausalypse* (2021). He appeared as himself in the 2010 documentary *Inside Job*. His books include the children's title *The Story of the Blue Planet* (1999) and the non-fiction work *Dreamland* (2006).

Magnason has received the Icelandic Literary Prize in multiple categories and other literary awards. His work often addresses environmental themes.
