## Biography

Andy Nyman is an English actor, director, writer and magician. Born on 13 April 1966 in Leicester, he trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

He is best known for his long collaboration with Derren Brown, co-creating and co-writing the first decade of Brown's television shows and several stage productions. Nyman co-created, co-wrote, co-directed and starred in the horror play *Ghost Stories* (2017 film adaptation) with Jeremy Dyson. His film roles include appearances in *Death at a Funeral* (2007), *Judy* (2019) and *Jungle Cruise* (2021).

On television he has played Winston Churchill in *Peaky Blinders* (2013). He received Olivier Award nominations for West End revivals of *Fiddler on the Roof*, *Hello, Dolly!* and *The Producers*. Nyman played Governor Thropp in the film *Wicked* (2024).
