## Biography

Andy Warhol was an American artist and filmmaker. He directed, produced, shot and edited the experimental film *Vinyl* (1965), an adaptation of Anthony Burgess's novel *A Clockwork Orange*.

Warhol made numerous underground films in the 1960s, including *Blow Job* (1964), *Empire* (1965) and *Chelsea Girls* (1966). He appeared in archive footage in the documentary *When You're Strange* (2010).

Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Warhol died in 1987.
