## Biography

Anita Ekberg was a Swedish actress. Born Kerstin Anita Marianne Ekberg on 29 September 1931 in Malmö, Sweden, she died on 11 January 2015 in Rocca di Papa, Italy.

She began her career as a fashion model and won the Miss Sweden title in 1950. Ekberg appeared in American and European films from the mid-1950s onwards, with an early credited role as Anita in *Artists and Models* (1955).

She is best known for playing Sylvia in Federico Fellini's *La Dolce Vita* (1960). Other credits include *War and Peace* (1956), *Boccaccio '70* (1962), *Killer Nun* (1979) and *Intervista* (1987).
