## Biography

Anke Engelke is a German comedian, actress, voice actress and television presenter. Born on 21 December 1965 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, she moved to Germany with her family as a child and began appearing on radio and television at a young age.

She rose to prominence as a member of the ensemble on the Sat.1 comedy series *Die Wochenshow* (1996–2000) and with her own sketch show *Ladykracher* (2002–2013). Engelke has appeared in films including *Manitou's Shoe* (2001) and *The Trixxer* (2004), and she has voiced Marge Simpson on the German dub of *The Simpsons* since 2007. She played Barbara Dietrich in the Amazon series *Deutschland* (2018–2020).

Engelke has received several awards, including a Grimme-Preis.
