## Biography

Ann Bell is a British actress. She was born Ann Forrest Bell on 29 April 1938 in Wallasey, Cheshire, England, and was educated at Birkenhead High School.

She is best known for playing Marion Jefferson in the BBC series *Tenko* (1981–1984). Her other television work includes roles in *The Lost Boys* (1978), *Inspector Morse* (1987), *Agatha Christie's Poirot* (1989) and *Midsomer Murders* (1997). Film appearances include *Fahrenheit 451* (1966), *To Sir, with Love* (1967) and *Pierrepoint: The Last Hangman* (2005), in which she played Violet Van Der Elst.

Bell was married to actor Robert Lang from 1971 until his death in 2004; they had two children and appeared together in *Tenko Reunion* and an episode of *Heartbeat*.
