Ann Gillis, born Alma Mabel Conner, was an American actress. She was born on 12 February 1927 in Little Rock, Arkansas, and began her career as a child performer in the mid-1930s. After uncredited appearances in several films, she took her first substantial role in *King of Hockey* (1936).

Gillis appeared in numerous Hollywood productions through the 1940s, often in supporting parts. Her credits include Becky Thatcher in *The Adventures of Tom Sawyer* (1938), the title role in *Little Orphan Annie* (1938), and the voice of the adolescent Faline in *Bambi* (1942). She later played Poole's mother in *2001: A Space Odyssey* (1968). She also made occasional television appearances, including episodes of *The Saint*. Gillis retired from film work in the late 1940s and died on 31 January 2018 in Horam, East Sussex, England.
