## Biography

Anne Pitoniak was an American actress. She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and began her career in theatre, performing with the Actors Theatre of Louisville and appearing in numerous stage productions.

She received Tony Award nominations for Best Actress in a Play for the 1983 Broadway production of *'night, Mother* and for Best Featured Actress in a Play for the 1994 revival of *Picnic*. Her film and television credits include *Housekeeping* (1987) as Aunt Lily, *Agnes of God* (1985), *Best Seller* (1987), *Bed of Roses* (1996) and guest roles in series such as *Cheers* (1987) and *ER* (1994). She died in New York City on 22 April 2007.
