## Biography

Annie Griffin is an American writer and director. Born in New York City in 1960, she moved to the United Kingdom in 1981.

She created, wrote and directed the Channel 4 comedy-drama series *The Book Group* (2002–2003). She also wrote and directed the feature film *Festival* (2005). Griffin directed episodes of *Fresh Meat* (2011–2012), for which she also wrote, and has directed on series including *Outlander* (2014), *Avenue 5* (2020) and *Annika* (2021).

Her work has received BAFTA Scotland awards and a British Independent Film Award for Best Debut Director.
