## Biography

Anny Romand is a French actress. Born in Paris in 1950, she grew up in Marseille and studied psychology at the University of Aix-en-Provence before training as an actor. Her screen career began in the late 1970s with television roles, followed by her film debut in Jean-Jacques Beineix's *Diva* (1981), in which she played Paula.

She has appeared in films by Manoel de Oliveira, including *Le Soulier de satin* (1985) and *La Lettre* (1999), Jean-Luc Godard's *Hélas pour moi* (1993) as the shepherd's wife, and Fabienne Berthaud's *Lily Sometimes* (2010) as Françoise Dreyer. Romand has also worked extensively in theatre, performed in opera as the narrator in Stravinsky's *Perséphone*, and published novels from 2015 onwards. Since 2006 she has directed the literary event Une Saison de Nobel.
