## Biography

Anthony B. Richmond (also credited as Tony Richmond or Anthony Richmond) is an English cinematographer. Born in London in 1942, he began his career as a messenger at Associated British Cinemas and Pathé News before progressing through the camera department. He worked as an assistant cameraman on films including *From Russia with Love* (1963), *Dr. Zhivago* (1965) and *Fahrenheit 451* (1966).

Richmond collaborated frequently with director Nicolas Roeg, serving as cinematographer on *Don't Look Now* (1973), for which he won the BAFTA Award for Best Cinematography, *The Man Who Fell to Earth* (1976) and *Bad Timing* (1980). His other credits include *The Eagle Has Landed* (1976), *Candyman* (1992), *Legally Blonde* (2001), *A Cinderella Story* (2004) and several entries in the *Diary of a Wimpy Kid* series. He is a member of the British Society of Cinematographers and the American Society of Cinematographers, and received the BSC Lifetime Achievement Award in 2024. He also directed the 1985 feature *Déjà Vu*.
