## Biography

Anthony Horowitz is an English novelist and screenwriter. He was born on 5 April 1955 in Stanmore, Middlesex, and studied English literature at the University of York.

Horowitz has written for television since the 1980s. He adapted early episodes of *Midsomer Murders* (1997) from Caroline Graham's novels and created the series *Foyle's War* (2002). His novels include the Alex Rider series for young adults and the Susan Ryeland mysteries, beginning with *Magpie Murders* (2016). Adaptations of his work include the series *Magpie Murders* (2022) and *Marble Hall Murders* (2026). He was appointed OBE for services to literature.
