Anthony Mendleson was a British costume designer. Born on 7 February 1915 in Chiswick, London, he studied art in France and Italy in the 1930s. He began his career as a painter and stage set designer before joining Ealing Studios in 1947 as costume designer and wardrobe supervisor, a role he held until the studio closed in 1959.

His Ealing credits include *Kind Hearts and Coronets* (1949), *The Lavender Hill Mob* (1951) and *The Ladykillers* (1955). He later worked at Pinewood Studios on films such as *Macbeth* (1971), *Young Winston* (1972) and *The Incredible Sarah* (1976). He received two BAFTA Awards for Best Costume Design and was nominated for two Academy Awards. Mendleson died in London on 5 September 1996.
