## Biography

Anthony O'Donnell is a Welsh actor. He began his career in the mid-1970s with roles in television plays and series, including appearances in *Play for Today* and *The Sweeney*.

In 1982 he received the London Critics' Circle Theatre Award for Most Promising Newcomer for his work in the Stratford Season. He has appeared in films including *Secrets & Lies* (1996), *Vera Drake* (2004), *Match Point* (2005), *Scoop* (2006), *Skyfall* (2012) and *Dream Horse* (2020), and in television series such as *Stella*, *The Crown* (as Mayor of Merthyr Tydfil) and *Bodies* (2023).

O'Donnell played Leo Abse in the 2018 series *A Very English Scandal*.
