## Biography

Anthony Paul Kelly (1897–1932) was an American screenwriter and playwright. He wrote scenarios and adaptations for approximately sixty films between 1914 and 1930, beginning his career as a staff writer for Selig Polyscope and later working for Essanay and Famous Players before freelancing.

His stage play *Three Faces East* (1918) was produced on Broadway and later adapted into films of the same name in 1926 and 1930, as well as *British Intelligence* (1940). Kelly provided the scenario for D. W. Griffith’s *Way Down East* (1920).
