## Biography

Anthony Philipson is a British television director. He began his career working on music and entertainment programmes including the first series of Big Brother and The Big Breakfast. He moved into factual television, directing the first episode of Ross Kemp on Gangs and the series Coppers and 24 Hours in A&E.

Philipson transitioned to drama, directing the first series of Youngers for E4 and serving as lead director on the second series of My Mad Fat Diary. He was lead director on the first and final series of Our Girl, and directed episodes of Cuffs and New Blood for BBC One. He wrote and directed the single drama Shamed and the series Liverpool Narcos. Other credits include two episodes of The Last Kingdom (2022), The Capture, The Day of the Jackal (2024) and the drama documentary 8 Days to the Moon and Back (2019).

His work has received BAFTA, RTS and Emmy nominations, including two BAFTA nominations overall.
