## Biography

Anton Bruckner (1824–1896) was an Austrian composer, organist and music theorist. He is known for his symphonies, masses, motets and the Te Deum.

Bruckner’s Symphony No. 7 features prominently in Luchino Visconti’s film *Senso* (1954), where sections were recorded for the soundtrack and adapted by Nino Rota. His music has also been used in other productions, including the television film *Saraband* (2003).
