## Biography

Anton Schelkopf (also known as Toni Schelkopf or Dr Toni Schelkopf) was a German film producer, director and assistant director. He worked in post-war cinema, founding Oska-Film GmbH in Munich in 1949, and contributed to several productions in the 1950s.

He produced *Hungarian Rhapsody* (1954), *School for Marriage* (1954, which he also co-directed) and *Rot ist die Liebe* (1957). He served as an uncredited producer on Max Ophüls’s *Lola Montès* (1955). His other credits include assistant director on *Verspieltes Leben* (1949) and *Love on Ice* (1950), and direction of the television film *Der Traum des Mr Borton* (1960).

Schelkopf trained in psychology and later returned to that field. He was married to the actress Cornell Borchers, who appeared in two of his films.
