## Biography

Antxón Gómez is a Spanish production designer and art director. Born in San Sebastián in 1952, he moved to Barcelona in the mid-1970s after briefly studying chemistry. He began working in advertising before entering film in 1993 as art director on Bigas Luna's *Golden Balls*.

Gómez has had a long collaboration with Pedro Almodóvar, serving as production designer or art director on films including *All About My Mother* (1999), *Talk to Her* (2002), *Bad Education* (2004), *The Skin I Live In* (2011), *Pain and Glory* (2019) and *Parallel Mothers* (2021). He also worked with Steven Soderbergh as production designer on *Che: Part One* (2008) and *Che: Part Two* (2008).

He received the Goya Award for Best Art Direction for *Che: Part One* and the European Film Award for Best Production Design for *Pain and Glory*.
