## Biography

Aric Avelino is a writer, director and producer. His feature directorial debut was *American Gun* (2005), which he also wrote. The film starred Forest Whitaker, Marcia Gay Harden, Donald Sutherland and Linda Cardellini, screened at the SXSW and Toronto film festivals, and received three Independent Spirit Award nominations, including for Best Feature.

Avelino was selected for the Sundance Institute TV Episodic Lab in 2017 and the Warner Bros. Directing Workshop in 2018. He has directed episodes of *Blindspot* (2018), *Animal Kingdom* (2022) and *Behind the Movement* (2018), a television film about Rosa Parks and the Montgomery Bus Boycott that earned NAACP Image Award nominations. He contributed a teleplay to *American Gods* (2021).

He has worked on the series *Silo* (2023–) as writer, director and producer.
