## Biography

Arlan Jay Vetter, also credited as Jay Vetter, is a production designer and art director. He studied lighting and scene design at Southern Oregon University, graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1984, and continued scene design studies at the University of Washington. He worked as a scenic artist at the Seattle Opera before moving to Hollywood, where his first film credit was as assistant art director on *Stand and Deliver* (1988).

Vetter has collaborated frequently with the Farrelly brothers. His art direction credits include *Dumb and Dumber* (1994), *Kingpin* (1996), *There's Something About Mary* (1998), *Me, Myself & Irene* (2000) and *Shallow Hal* (2001). Later production design work encompasses *The Heartbreak Kid* (2007), *Hall Pass* (2011), *The Three Stooges* (2012) and *Movie 43* (2013). In 1998 he shared an Art Directors Guild Excellence in Production Design Award for the television film *George Wallace*.

His television credits as production designer include multiple episodes of *Black Lightning* (2018–2021) and *Grey's Anatomy* (2022–2023).
