Arlene Sarner is a Canadian screenwriter. She was born on 15 November 1947 in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Sarner wrote the screenplay for *Peggy Sue Got Married* (1986) with her husband Jerry Leichtling; the film was directed by Francis Ford Coppola. She also wrote the screenplay for *Blue Sky* (1994) and the television film *Switched at Birth* (1999). She graduated from Forest Hill Collegiate Institute in Toronto in 1966.
