## Biography

Art Carney was an American actor and comedian. He was best known for playing Ed Norton in the television sitcom *The Honeymooners* (1955–1956).

Carney won the Academy Award for Best Actor for his performance in *Harry and Tonto* (1974). His other film roles include *Firestarter* (1984), *The Muppets Take Manhattan* (1984) and *Last Action Hero* (1993), in which he played Frank; the latter was his final film appearance. He received six Primetime Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe Award.
