## Biography

Art Wallace was an American television writer. He began his career in the 1940s, contributing to anthology series including *Studio One* and *Kraft Television Theater*.

Wallace is best known for his foundational work on the gothic soap opera *Dark Shadows* (1966), for which he wrote the series bible and the first several weeks of episodes. He also wrote two episodes of *Star Trek* (1966): "Obsession" (1967) and "Assignment: Earth" (1968, co-written with Gene Roddenberry). Other credits include episodes of *Combat!* (1962), *The Invaders* (1967), *Planet of the Apes* (1974) and *Space: 1999* (1975), as well as serving as story consultant on *All My Children* in the 1980s. He died in December 1994. His wife, Elizabeth Wallace, was also a television scriptwriter.
