Arthur Ibbetson was a British cinematographer. Born on 8 September 1922 in Bishop Auckland, County Durham, he began his career as a child actor in 1935 before working as a camera operator and assistant on films including *Moby Dick* (1956). He became a director of photography with *The Horse's Mouth* (1958).

His credits include *Where Eagles Dare* (1968), *Anne of the Thousand Days* (1969), *The Railway Children* (1970), *Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory* (1971), *The Medusa Touch* (1978) and *The Bounty* (1984). He also photographed television productions such as *Little Lord Fauntleroy* (1980) and *Witness for the Prosecution* (1982). Ibbetson was nominated for an Academy Award for *Anne of the Thousand Days* and won an Emmy Award for *Little Lord Fauntleroy*. He died on 19 October 1997 in Hillingdon, London.
