Arthur J. Ornitz was an American cinematographer. Born Arthur Jacob Ornitz in New York City on 28 November 1916, he died in the same city on 10 July 1985. The son of screenwriter Samuel Ornitz, he studied film at the University of California, Los Angeles.

Ornitz's feature credits include *A Thousand Clowns* (1965), *Charly* (1968), *The Boys in the Band* (1970), *The Anderson Tapes* (1971), *Serpico* (1973), *Death Wish* (1974) and *An Unmarried Woman* (1978). He worked on many New York-based productions and with directors including William Friedkin, Sidney Lumet and Paul Mazursky. His son, Kim H. Ornitz, is a sound mixer.
