## Biography

Arthur Wong Ngok-Tai (also credited as Arthur Wong Ngok Tai and Huang Yueh-Tai) is a Hong Kong cinematographer, director, producer and actor. Born in Hong Kong in 1956, he is the son of cinematographer Wong Chit and began working in film in the mid-1970s.

He served as cinematographer on *The 36th Chamber of Shaolin* (1978) and *Once Upon a Time in China* (1991), among many other films including *Armour of God* (1986), *Operation Condor* (1991), *Twin Dragons* (1992) and *Bodyguards and Assassins* (2009). Wong has won the Hong Kong Film Award for Best Cinematography on multiple occasions, including for *He Lives by Night* (1982), *The Soong Sisters* (1997), *Purple Storm* (1999), *The Warlords* (2007) and *Painted Skin* (2008). He is noted for innovative multi-camera techniques and was among the first in Asia to work in high definition.
