## Biography

Arty Papageorgiou is a screenwriter. He co-wrote the screenplay for the animated film *The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim* (2024) with Phoebe Gittins.

Papageorgiou began his career as an actor, appearing in New Zealand television series including *The Tribe* (1999–2001) and *Revelations: The Initial Journey* (2002). He later wrote and directed the 2013 feature *The Sorrows*. He is also credited on the forthcoming film *The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum* (2027).

A Greek-Australian, Papageorgiou grew up in New Zealand near the Weta Workshop and has collaborated with childhood friend and writing partner Phoebe Gittins on projects connected to the *Lord of the Rings* franchise.
