## Biography

Auguste Capelier was a French art director and production designer. Born in Paris on 2 April 1905, he worked in the French film industry from the early 1940s until 1970, often in collaboration with production designer Georges Wakhévitch in the early part of his career.

He is credited as production designer on *Eyes Without a Face* (1960). His other work includes set decoration on *Rififi* (1955), assistant art director on *Love in the Afternoon* (1957) and *Charade* (1963), and art direction on *The Night of the Generals* (1967) and *Behold a Pale Horse* (1964). He also contributed to several international co-productions filmed in France.
