## Biography

Augusto Caminito (1939–2020) was an Italian screenwriter, film producer and director. Born in Naples on 1 July 1939, he began his career as a screenwriter in the mid-1960s and later worked extensively as a producer and occasional director.

His screenwriting credits include *The Two Missionaries* (1974), *The Cat* (1977), *I Know That You Know That I Know* (1982) and *Journey with Papa* (1982). As a producer he worked on numerous Italian comedies and genre films, including several directed by or starring Alberto Sordi, as well as *King of New York* (1990). He also directed and co-wrote *Grandi cacciatori* (1988) and *Nosferatu in Venice* (1988).

Caminito died in Naples on 23 August 2020.
