## Biography

Auriol Lee (1880–1941) was a British stage actress, director and producer. She made her London stage debut around 1900 and appeared in numerous West End and Broadway productions, later becoming known for directing plays including several by John Van Druten.

Her film roles were limited to *A Royal Divorce* (1938), in which she played Napoleon's mother, and *Suspicion* (1941), directed by Alfred Hitchcock, in which she played Isobel Sedbusk. She was married to actor Frederick Lloyd from 1912 until their divorce in 1922 and was the aunt of actress Virginia Field.
