## Biography

Axelle Carolyn is a Belgian filmmaker, writer and former journalist and actress. She began her career as a freelance reporter for film magazines and websites, culminating in the 2009 publication of her book *It Lives Again! Horror Movies in the New Millennium*. She later directed short films from 2011 and made her feature debut with the ghost story *Soulmate* in 2014.

Carolyn is known for her work in horror, including creating and directing segments of the anthology *Tales of Halloween* (2015) and directing the feature *The Manor* (2021). Her television directing credits include episodes of *American Horror Story* (2011), *The Haunting of Bly Manor* (2020), *Creepshow* (2019), *Them* (2021), *The Midnight Club* (2022), *Mayfair Witches* (2023) and *Star Trek: Strange New Worlds* (2022). She also wrote for *Chilling Adventures of Sabrina* (2018).

She was married to director Neil Marshall from 2007 to 2016.
