## Biography

Babak Anvari is a British-Iranian filmmaker. He was born in 1983 in Tehran, Iran, and studied at the University of Westminster.

Anvari made his feature directorial debut with the horror film *Under the Shadow* (2016), which he also wrote. It won the BAFTA Award for Outstanding Debut by a British Writer, Director or Producer. His subsequent features as director and writer include *Wounds* (2019) and *I Came By* (2022). He has also produced films including *Your Mother Your Mother Your Mother* (2026).

With producer Lucan Toh, Anvari co-founded the production company Two & Two Pictures.
