## Biography

George Herman "Babe" Ruth was an American professional baseball player who also worked as an actor, appearing as himself in films.

He played in Major League Baseball from 1914 to 1935, mainly as a right fielder for the New York Yankees, and was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1936. Ruth portrayed himself in the films *Speedy* (1928) and *The Pride of the Yankees* (1942).
