## Biography

Bandō Mitsugorō X (also credited as Bandō Yasosuke V) was a Japanese kabuki actor. Born Hisashi Morita on 23 January 1956 in Chūō, Tokyo, he came from a long-established family of kabuki performers and made his stage debut in 1962.

He appeared in several films, including as Mizoguchi in *Mishima: A Life in Four Chapters* (1985), Toya Shimada in *Love and Honor* (2006), Shigeru Nogami in *Kabei: Our Mother* (2008) and Hori in *Isoroku Yamamoto, the Commander-in-Chief of the Combined Fleet* (2011). He died on 21 February 2015.
