## Biography

Barbara Bosson was an American actress best known for playing Fay Furillo, the ex-wife of Captain Frank Furillo, in the NBC series *Hill Street Blues* (1981–1986). She appeared in the first six seasons of the show and received five consecutive Primetime Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.

Bosson had supporting roles in films including *Capricorn One* (1978) and *The Last Starfighter* (1984). She earned a sixth Emmy nomination for her performance as prosecutor Miriam Grasso in the legal drama *Murder One* (1995–1997). Other television credits include regular roles in *Hooperman* (1987–1989) and *Cop Rock* (1990).

Born in Charleroi, Pennsylvania, Bosson trained at Carnegie Mellon University and was married to television producer Steven Bochco from 1970 until their divorce in 1997. She died in 2023.
