Barbara Everest was a British stage and film actress. She made her screen debut in the 1916 film *The Man Without a Soul* and appeared in numerous films over five decades.

She is known for roles including Elizabeth in *Gaslight* (1944), Lizzie Flynn in *The Uninvited* (1944), the Aunt in *Phantom of the Opera* (1943), Lady Ingram in *Jane Eyre* (1943), and the Mother Superior in *El Cid* (1961). On stage she played Queen Anne in the 1935 play *Viceroy Sarah* by Norman Ginsbury.
