## Biography

Barbie Kligman is an American television writer and producer. She began her career in Los Angeles as an assistant on *ER* before becoming a researcher for John Wells Productions and a staff writer on *Law & Order: Special Victims Unit* (2003–2004), where she received writing, story and teleplay credits.

She wrote episodes of *Jack & Bobby* (2004–2005), *Everwood* (2005–2006), *CSI: NY* (2007–2009) and *The Vampire Diaries* (2009–2010). Kligman also held producing positions including supervising producer on *CSI: NY* and co-executive producer on *The Vampire Diaries* and *Private Practice* (2010–2012), where she was later promoted to executive producer and co-showrunner.

She developed and served as showrunner on *Secrets and Lies* (2015–2016). Kligman has been executive producer and showrunner on *Magnum P.I.* (2018–2024) and *Doc* (2025–).
