## Biography

Barry Cook is an American film director and animator. Born in Nashville, Tennessee, he began making films as a child and interned at Hanna-Barbera before joining Walt Disney Feature Animation in 1981. He contributed to visual effects on films including *Tron* (1982), *The Black Cauldron* (1985), *Oliver & Company* (1988), *The Little Mermaid* (1989), *Beauty and the Beast* (1991) and *Aladdin* (1992).

Cook directed the short films *Off His Rockers* (1992) and *Trail Mix-Up* (1993). He co-directed the animated feature *Mulan* (1998) with Tony Bancroft, for which they received the Annie Award for Best Animated Feature. He later co-directed *Arthur Christmas* (2011) and directed *Walking with Dinosaurs* (2013) with Neil Nightingale.
