## Biography

Barry De Vorzon is an American composer, singer, songwriter and record producer. Born in New York City on 31 July 1934, he began as a pop musician in the 1960s and co-founded Valiant Records, where he signed and produced acts including the Association.

From the 1970s he became known for film and television scores. His credits include *Rolling Thunder* (1977), *The Warriors* (1979), *Xanadu* (1980), *The Ninth Configuration* (1980), *Night of the Creeps* (1986) and *The Exorcist III* (1990). He also wrote the theme for the television series *S.W.A.T.* and co-wrote the Eagles song "In the City".

De Vorzon won a Grammy Award for Best Instrumental Arrangement for "Nadia's Theme" and received an Academy Award nomination for the song "Bless the Beasts and Children". He is a six-time Daytime Emmy winner.
