Barry Michael Harman (born 14 March 1952) is an American television writer and producer, and a book writer and lyricist for theatre. A graduate of Harvard University, where he edited the Harvard Lampoon and served as president of the Hasty Pudding Theatricals, he began his professional career as a staff writer on The Carol Burnett Show, earning a shared Primetime Emmy Award.

Harman wrote three episodes of the series All in the Family, including the 1977 episode 'Cousin Liz', for which he shared an Emmy Award. He also co-wrote the premiere episode of its spin-off The Jeffersons. His theatre credits include the Broadway musical Romance/Romance (1988), for which he wrote the book and lyrics and which received five Tony Award nominations, and the off-Broadway musical Olympus On My Mind, which won an Outer Critics Circle Award for Best Lyrics.
