## Biography

Barry McEvoy is a Northern Irish actor and writer. Born in Belfast in 1967, he spent a decade performing in Off-Broadway plays in New York City before his first notable screen role as a gangster in *Gloria* (1999).

He wrote and played the lead role of Colm in the comedy *An Everlasting Piece* (2000), directed by Barry Levinson. The screenplay drew on his father's experiences selling toupées in Belfast during the Troubles. McEvoy has appeared in supporting roles in films including *Gettysburg* (1993), *Veronica Guerin* (2003), *Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest* (2006) and *Five Minutes of Heaven* (2009), in which he played Joe's Chauffeur.
