## Biography

Barton Dean is a television writer and producer. His early credits include writing and story contributions to the sitcom *Taxi* (1978).

He later worked on *Newhart* (1982) as a writer and story editor, and created the series *Down Home* (1990) and *Muddling Through* (1994). Dean also produced episodes of *It's All Relative* (2003) and other sitcoms. He won a Primetime Emmy Award in 1980 for the animated television film *Carlton Your Doorman*.
